The wooden barrel is durable, comfortable to hold, and remarkably lightweight. The glass nib can be removed by gently twisting and pulling, allowing for easy replacement. ■ How to Use a Glass Pen Please use water-based bottled ink, the kind used for fountain pens. Dip the nib about halfway into the ink and then lift it out. The ink will be drawn up through the channels in the nib by capillary action. You can then write words and lines with the ink that has been drawn into the channels. The nib has ten channels, and by occasionally rotating the pen as you write, you can ensure the ink in the channels is used evenly. The hard glass nib is very delicate. Avoid touching the nib to the rim or bottom of the ink bottle, as this can cause damage. ■ How to Care for Your Glass Pen After use, rinse the ink off the nib with water. Then, gently dry it with a soft cloth and store it with the nib cover attached. If ink becomes caked in the nib's channels, gently wash it off with lukewarm water and a toothbrush. ■ Due to the burner work technique, there will be slight individual differences in the shape and line width of each glass nib, as they are entirely handmade. ■ If the nib becomes damaged or worn, please replace it with a separately sold replacement nib.
