Vintage handmade traditional Frysian bowl.
Frysian earthenware has a characteristic red brown colour as only local clay of that colour is used. The "S" shaped design is made with a different type of liquid clay that is poured into a cow horn of which the tip has been removed. The design is then painted as the piece is turned around on the pottery wheel.
This piece is in fair condition with signs of usage and aging, such as craquelure and small parts of the glaze missing, especially along the rim. The photographs are a part of the description.
