The Kasuga Staghorn Fern Pottery Course is divided into two sessions.
The first class is making pottery plates. The second class is tying up staghorn ferns and teaching everyone how to take care of them.
The ceramic plate can be coiled or hand-painted.

Course Details|
1. Courses
First class:
Pottery production
• Shape design: Choose the shape of the ceramic tile to ensure it is suitable for hanging and fixing the staghorn fern.
• Clay tablet molding: Learn to use clay tablet techniques to make ceramic panels, which can be decorated with carving, stamping and other decorative methods.
• Opening design: reserve holes for hanging ropes and tying staghorn ferns, and consider drainage and ventilation functions.
• Drying and bisque firing: Understand the ceramic tile drying process to avoid cracking and perform bisque firing (about 800°C).
Second Class
Staghorn fern fixation and maintenance
• Tie-off tips: Use cotton rope, Linen or fishing line to secure the staghorn fern to avoid damaging the roots.
• Moss wrap: Use materials such as sphagnum moss to wrap the roots to enhance water retention.
• Hanging method: explains how to choose a suitable wall or hanging bracket.
• Daily care: watering frequency, humidity control, light requirements and ways to avoid damage.
2. The ceramics workshop course includes discussion and production, which lasts about 2.5 hours.

4. Course Fees:
Two classes
Twisted pottery plate + staghorn fern plate tutorial (including staghorn fern) $2880
Hand-painted ceramic plate + Staghorn fern board tutorial (including Staghorn fern) $3080
Kiln firing fee is calculated separately: based on volume length * width * height * 0.15
5. Number of students in the course: A class consists of two people and a full class consists of six people.
Faculty Profile|
Lin Xinying graduated from the Ceramics Department of the Institute of Applied Arts at Tainan University of the Arts.
He has ten years of experience in ceramics creation, is good at throwing and sculpting, and pays attention to the texture of the soil at different humidity levels.
I love creating daily utensils that are both practical and beautiful, making ceramics a part of daily life and injecting warmth and poetry into ordinary life.

1. You cannot cancel the course or get a refund 3 days before the course starts. If you are unable to attend the long-term course for some reason, you can take a leave of absence once. Please send a private message to the official Line (@asavingcom) and we will assist you in changing to other classes during the month.
2. The course length will not be extended if you are late for the course, so please arrive on time to fully enjoy the course content.
3. After placing an order, please select "Self Pickup" as the delivery method. If the work needs to be shipped, the shipping fee will be calculated separately and paid on site.
4. It takes about 30-40 days to fire the pottery. Please wait patiently for your unique work to be fired.
5. During the course, I will help students record and take photos and share them on social media. If you mind, please let me know.
