The strength and beauty of the little ones, the misfits.
One day, while walking my dog, I saw a flower that caught my attention.
I found it to be a poppy plant called "Atsumigeshi"(Papaver setigerum) which is not allowed to be cultivated.
It is originally found in southwestern Europe and North Africa.
Because of its fertility and small size, it is said to have spread throughout the world by being mixed in with imported fertilizers.
In Japan, it was found growing and propagating naturally in the Atsumi Peninsula in Aichi Prefecture in 1964 and was named "Atsumi poppy.
It often grows wild in fields and on roadsides.
I called the police or the public health center and received a report of its removal.
When I went to see the flowers the next day, I was informed that they had been removed.
I found many flowers still left behind and in full bloom...!
At that time, I was more moved by the beauty and life force of these flowers than by the convenience of the human side.
I carefully sketched their majestic blooms after they had slipped through the messy removal process.
Even though it was a flower that should not grow there
I want to cherish the heart that thinks it is wonderful.
This work, in which a rejected flower and a lonely hamster meet and communicate with each other, carries such a message.
The set of two pieces can be displayed on the wall, used as a bookmark for a book, or given as a gift to a friend.... You can enjoy it in various ways.
