Each item is meticulously hand-woven by local grandmothers and aunts, imbued with the spirit of Taiwan. **|| Sedge Grass Weaving Process ||** Growth | 3-4 months of growth Drying | After harvesting, sun-dried for approximately 2-4 months to completely remove moisture. Sorting | Grass is sorted by length, and some tips are removed. Selection | Grass is chosen for uniform thickness before weaving. Trimming | Unfinished leaf sheaths at the grass tips are removed. Softening | The grass's structure is broken down to make it pliable for weaving. For finer items, two additional steps are involved: "Splitting" (dividing the triangular sedge grass into two to three finer strands) and "Kneading" (rubbing to remove the white fibers within the grass). **|| A Little Story About Taiwanese Sedge Grass ||** Grandmothers and mothers tell stories of how people used to cultivate grass. They particularly favored the "black gold" hue of sedge grass, which typically developed its color with use over time. However, some individuals seeking to accelerate this transformation would specifically wipe the grass with tea water to deepen its color. | Returns and Exchanges Each piece is handcrafted with focused dedication by experienced artisans. In the event of a major defect, please ensure the product and its packaging are intact, with all tags still attached.
