We made this hairpin from plum. We carved this barrete by hand using woodcarving chisels. . This barrette has a natural color of plum wood, only a protective coating was used as a coating - shellac. An environmentally friendly shellac coating was used as a finishing layer. Shellac as wood finish is natural and non-toxic in its pure form. A finish made of shellac is UV-resistant.
