We hope to convey the beauty and charm of the unique gradient created by the dye's diffusion. Though the design is voluminous and luxuriously layered, it is actually formed from a single, delicately dyed cord. The gradual shift in color, based on a specific theme, creates a three-dimensional layering of petals. This is further enhanced with a vibrant, contrasting cord tied around it for added flourish. For this piece: A gradient from the cord's base white to a very pale pink, with yellow diffusion, and scattered touches of red (the volume of white or red areas may vary by individual piece). The stem-like part, evoking the image of thin, translucent petals that let light through, is a soft, pale bluish-green. The fluffy, ephemeral, and retro colors, reminiscent of subtly sweet Japanese confections, are gently gathered by a single cord of sage, a very pale green.
