During firing, the glazes melt and blend, creating flowing patterns. Its plump and charming form fits comfortably in your hands, with the curves of the bowl nestling into your palms. While titled a cafe au lait bowl, it's versatile enough for more than just coffee or cafe au lait. You can enjoy it with soup, or even as a vessel for pudding or jelly. All stages of production—from kneading the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing—are meticulously done by hand in my home studio, equipped with a small electric kiln and a potter's wheel. While mass production isn't possible, each piece possesses a unique character, offering the distinct charm that comes from handmade craftsmanship. To address this, all our ceramics undergo a waterproofing treatment with a food-safe sealant before shipping, eliminating the need for initial soaking (mezome). This treatment requires 2-3 days, hence our shipping timeframe of 5 days from order placement. If you prefer not to have this treatment applied, please inform us at the time of purchase. - The colors of the glaze may appear whiter under natural daylight or white light, and exhibit more reddish or yellowish tones under evening light or warm-toned lamps. - Cutlery shown in product images is not included. - Product images are edited and photographed to be as true to the actual item as possible.
