Wrinkles, vein patterns, insect bite marks, and scars are normal characteristics of the leather itself. Over time, the color will also change (e.g., darkening, becoming more lustrous with use). ▪ While hand-dyed leather items undergo a color-setting process, contact with water is still not recommended. If water splashes occur, gently wipe in a circular motion around the water spot with a damp cloth to minimize water stains, then allow to air dry in a well-ventilated area. However, some color transfer may occur with water and friction. ▪ Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, as this can cause the leather to become brittle and crack. ▪ Keep leather away from damp environments to prevent mildew.
