Originating in Japan, Shimenawa are traditionally hung on doors or used as indoor decorations during the New Year, symbolizing protection against misfortune and the invitation of good fortune. Increasingly, Shimenawa are now a common sight in homes during the New Year, welcoming the arrival of the new year.
The double-ring Shimenawa design is highly distinctive, with a festive red base that enhances the overall atmosphere of joy and completeness, symbolizing interconnected blessings, good wishes, and continuous fortune.
The floral elements include rice and barley, signifying harvest and prosperity. The primary color palette is a rich wine red and gold, complemented by white florals for layered depth. The linear texture of the white foxtail grass adds a dynamic, horse-tail-like extension, while silver dollar leaves are incorporated to symbolize abundant wealth.
The main bloom features a realistic Japanese dahlia, presented in a red and white combination to create rich layers. Accented with Mizuhiki cords and small, lifelike Japanese apples, it conveys blessings of "peace and safety, and abundance year after year."
✿ Product Dimensions: The finished Shimenawa measures approximately 20 cm in width and 40 cm in length, and comes in a gift box.
✿ Ordering Notes:
• Each piece is handcrafted, so no two items will be exactly alike, but we strive to match the photos as closely as possible.
• We will prioritize using the same floral materials for creation. Due to seasonal shortages or quality issues with certain materials, we will make appropriate adjustments to maintain product quality. However, the overall appearance will remain over 90% similar. If you are particular about this, please refrain from placing an order.
• Festive items require 3 to 7 days for creation. To protect the designer's rights and production costs, all orders, once placed, can only have their pickup date deferred; cancellations are not permitted.
• Custom floral gifts are handmade, and floral materials can be tailored to your preferred color scheme. As the appearance of each floral material varies, every product is unique! You are welcome to share your desired aesthetic/budget, or send us reference photos, and we can discuss further. Custom floral gifts require ordering 7 business days in advance (excluding holidays).
• We take great care in packaging to prevent damage during shipping. Minor shedding of floral debris during transit is normal and not considered a defect. If you are unable to accept this, please do not place an order. For any issues with the product, please contact us via message!
✿ Care Instructions:
• Dried and preserved floral materials do not require watering. Avoid humidity and direct sunlight. For regular maintenance, you can use a hairdryer on a low setting to gently blow dust off the surface or use a small brush to lightly sweep the surface.
• Avoid heavy pressure and pulling. Floral materials may shed slightly over time, and dried florals will naturally fade with age, both of which are normal phenomena.
• With proper care, dried and preserved floral materials can last from one to two years, or even longer.
✿ Shipping Method Precautions:
• For convenience store pickups, due to carton size restrictions (must be under 45 cm), if you require two or more items, please place separate orders.
• Due to the sorting process at convenience stores, some minor floral debris may fall off. If product integrity is a primary concern, please select courier delivery.
• Local pickup is available for customers in the greater Taipei area, which ensures the product's completeness.
