Among these discoveries, what captivated me instantly was this coin purse, meticulously handmade by Kyoto kimono artisans. ◾️ Product Description I've always been deeply fond of coin purses. The crisp, satisfying click of opening and closing them, and the sense of elegance and flair they bring when held, truly make coin purses the perfect accessory (or rather, weapon) for achieving perfection. Mr. Nakamura, a somewhat shy yet exceptionally graceful artisan, has retired from his career as a kimono craftsman. With his discerning eye and superb skill, he selects exquisite kimono fabrics to create these one-of-a-kind coin purses. - ◾️ The [Black Cat Series], inspired by beloved felines: Mr. Nakamura is exceptionally particular about the materials used for his coin purses. He exclusively chooses 100% high-grade "Tango Chirimen" silk, traditionally used for kimonos, for the exterior, which is then dyed black. The golden lines are meticulously applied by hand, one stroke at a time, using gold leaf. The inner lining is varied with each creation. (The dedication involved is almost overwhelming for both myself and the artisan...) With their playfully spirited eyes paired with a classic, elegant form, these pouches are sure to win the hearts of all cat lovers, and even those who aren't. ------ The spirit of lifelong dedication to craft is fully evident in the details and material selection of his work. For instance, his insistence on using natural pure silk immediately sets his coin purses apart from those made with synthetic fibers or cotton found elsewhere.
