【Zhaozhuang Zhuni Da Hong Pao - Golden Zhuni】
Zhaozhuang Zhuni originates from the Zhaozhuang mine in Dingshu Town, Yixing, and is also known as "Golden Zhuni." The raw ore appears earthy yellow with reddish undertones, interspersed with light blue-white tender clay. Its texture is loose and fine, easily disintegrating when wet.
With a lower quartz content and a higher proportion of clay, its shrinkage rate can reach 25%-30% or even higher, making it extremely challenging to form. It is famously said that "ten pots crack nine," making it a rare and highly demanding clay among the Zhuni types.
After firing, it presents a muted red to orange-red hue, with a restrained and stable color. The surface is fine and lustrous. When hot water is poured over it, the color becomes more vibrant and bright, exhibiting a jade-like luster.
Brewing tea with Zhaozhuang Zhuni enhances the aroma, lifting it without dissipating, and results in a mellow, full-bodied taste. With prolonged use and care, the pot's surface gradually develops a flush red color, becoming warm and jade-like with rich layers of patina, highly favored by seasoned collectors and tea connoisseurs.
【Frequently Asked Questions QA】
1. How to season the pot before use?
Clean the inside and outside thoroughly, preferably with a vegetable scrubbing sponge. Avoid using chemical agents. Simply rinse with water, and it is ready for use.
2. How to care for the pot?
After each use, keep it clean and dry to prevent tea stains from accumulating. Place it in a well-ventilated area after use. If storing it in the box for an extended period, allow it to air dry naturally for 1-2 months to ensure sufficient moisture evaporation from the pores, otherwise, it may develop mold.
3. How to clean tea stains or mold?
Soak with enzyme cleaner.
4. How to properly warm the pot?
In cold weather, or after a long period of disuse, use 40°C warm water to rinse the inside and outside of the pot, then fill it completely with water, allowing the porous clay to absorb moisture fully.
5. How to care for pieces with engravings?
For pots with engravings on the body, we recommend using a soft brush for cleaning.
