It features 16 color illustrations by Warwick Goble. In the author's own words, the aim of this work was to be "the best collection that could be attained for the pleasure of all children, and of many grown-ups who have not yet forgotten how to be children—a collection of old, of traditional, of classic fairy stories." The content includes 25 classic fairy tales such as Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Tom Thumb, Rumpelstiltskin, Snow White, Jack and the Beanstalk, and more.
This is a wonderful collection of classic fairy tales, featuring 16 illustrations. Two of these are newly added (the last two images), while the remaining 14 are from the original publication.
