Original rare chess set from Soviet Union, 1930s, model is called « Botvinnik - Flohr II» or BFII, as it was the favorite chess style of the Soviet chess champion Mikhaïl Botvinnik. Also used at the match with Flohr. Great overall vintage condition. Please see photos. Made uniquely from wood. The whites were recovered with an authentic dragon’s blood dye + shellac, as the set came to me with the white pieces having no paint at all. King is 11 cm tall.
The set was used at high level tournaments by famous chess masters.
