This is a Ukiyo-e print created using a manual letterpress machine, which can only print one color at a time. It was completed after 14 separate printing passes. The paper used is Nina Cotton, an ultra-premium stock developed in America specifically for letterpress printing. As this is a manual process, slight misalignments occur with each color change, meaning no two prints are exactly alike.
