This is an antique finish for the brass, not a defect or stain. This process enhances the brass's rust-resistance, making it less prone to developing dark spots over time. Each stamp also receives basic polishing and finishing before shipment, neither of which affects the intrinsic quality of the brass or the final impression of the seal. ❖ ◤ How to Use 1 Gather your tools: Hammer, wax stick, lighter, alcohol lamp, baby oil (apply baby oil to the brass stamp before use to prevent wax from sticking). 2 Break a wax stick into small pieces and place them in the spoon, filling it about 80% full. Light the alcohol lamp and heat until the wax melts (with slight bubbling). 3 Let the melted wax cool for a few tens of seconds after heating to prevent overheating, which can cause bubbles and an imperfect shape. 4 Slowly pour the melted wax onto the desired area. Press the sealing stamp vertically into the wax and hold for a few seconds before lifting to create a beautiful wax seal. * Please ensure you are in a well-ventilated area throughout the process. * Be mindful that very thin paper may cause the wax to stick to the back. It is recommended to use a glass or metal backing. * Each wax stick is estimated to make about 6-7 seals, depending on the amount used by the individual.
