**Garnet**
The English name "Garnet" originates from the Latin word "Granatum," meaning "seed," much like the seeds of a pomegranate. It symbolizes the continuation of life and the hope of new beginnings.
As early as thousands of years ago, in ancient Rome and the Roman Empire, garnets were used for warding off evil spirits. During the Victorian era in England, garnets were widely used in gemstone jewelry. In ancient China, garnet was also known as "Tzaring," derived from the Arabic pronunciation of "gemstone."
Garnets come in a vast spectrum of colors, covering the entire visible light range. When selecting garnets, look for vibrant, pure colors; lighter shades are often preferred.
Garnet is an energy stone associated with the root chakra, aiding in the activation of all energy centers. Therefore, garnets are particularly well-suited for women to wear.
Garnet is the birthstone for January, symbolizing loyalty, friendship, and unwavering devotion. It also represents hope and blessings for regaining hope and life energy.
Garnet is also the traditional gemstone for the 18th wedding anniversary, hence the term "Garnet Anniversary."
**Pixiu**
Legend has it that the Pixiu is a son of the dragon, with a lion's head, horns, and a beast-like body. It feeds on money and evil spirits, and only takes in without expelling, thus giving the Pixiu its functions of "attracting wealth" and "warding off evil."
In ancient times, the Pixiu was a formidable beast! In modern times, to better suit popular sentiment, the round, plump Pixiu appears as if it has eaten a belly full of money, making it more comforting and adorable.
**Tourmaline**
Tourmaline, also known as "electric stone" or "rainbow gemstone," possesses extremely strong energy. Its vibrant, varied colors and high transparency have made it beloved since ancient times.
Tourmaline boasts a rich array of colors, encompassing all seven colors of the spectrum, so its energy can correspond to the various chakras of the body.
When selecting tourmaline, pay attention to its color and clarity. Most tourmalines exhibit dichroism (co-existing colors), and pure single-colored specimens are extremely rare.
**Ruby**
The name "Ruby" evolved from the Latin word "Ruber," meaning red.
In Sanskrit, rubies are referred to as the "King of Gems" and the "Leader among Gemstones." Due to their fiery red hue, Indians believed rubies to be an inextinguishable fire.
Rubies have a very high hardness, but their crystals are small and often contain fissures, making them prone to co-existing with green zoisite or black tourmaline. Therefore, large rubies commonly found in the market may exhibit red, green, and black together. Rubies with co-existing green zoisite are colloquially known as "Rubies and Green."
**Spinel**
Spinel (meaning "crystal with sharp angles") has a hardness similar to corundum (which is why early red and blue spinels were mistaken for rubies and sapphires). It does not require special care and is very suitable for daily wear. Due to its high hardness, when cut and polished, it exhibits a brilliant luster.
Spinel comes in a rich variety of colors. High-quality spinels often have exceptional clarity. They not only possess basic gemstone colors but also exhibit dazzling fire. The brilliance of black spinel can even rival that of black diamonds.

**◈ Care and Collection**
1. Natural gemstones possess natural luster and unique textures (such as minor black spots, internal lines, ice cracks, cloudiness, mineral inclusions, and asymmetry). With frequent wear, you may observe subtle color changes in natural gemstones, often making them appear more translucent and captivating – this is the best form of care.
Natural organic gemstones (like coral and amber) have low hardness and are sensitive to acids and alkalis. When dirty, avoid using detergents; clean with plain water and wipe with a soft cloth. You can also gently brush with a soft brush dipped in a small amount of mineral oil (such as baby oil) for maintenance.
2. Metal jewelry has a long lifespan. Avoid external damage or strong acids and alkalis that can cause fading.
3. Fabric components (ribbons, cotton, gauze) are soft and comfortable and have a long lifespan. Avoid high temperatures, external damage, or strong acids and alkalis that can cause fading.
4. For jewelry of any material, when dirty, wipe with a soft cloth dampened with water as appropriate, or use a suitable amount of neutral detergent for appropriate materials. After washing, ensure it is dried promptly.
5. When jewelry is removed, store it properly in packaging to minimize exposure to excess air, which can slow down oxidation and discoloration. Avoid stacking or placing heavy objects on it.
