Broken or chipped pottery, no longer in use, is upcycled and mended with kintsugi, then crafted into accessories. The concept behind these pieces is to reconnect people with nature and Japan's enduring traditions, reimagining them into modern accessories that bridge the past and future, thus creating new possibilities. These are earrings and a necklace featuring elegant gray ceramic shards adorned with floral patterns, paired with freshwater pearls. This work uses a modern, simplified kintsugi technique. Unlike traditional kintsugi using natural lacquer derived from the urushi tree, this method uses adhesive for the primary bonding.
