The Garyubai, named for its trunk resembling a dragon coiled around its head, is over 460 years old and located within Fukukoji Temple in Omuta City, Fukuoka Prefecture. It has been designated as a Prefectural Natural Monument. The new shoots of the plum tree grow upright. Shaped with aluminum wire, they are meticulously guided into elegant branches, forming a canopy. Paired with a Taiwanese Raku-fired pot, its unique, refined form complements the gracefully curved and sprawling tree shape.
