Who are the Austronesian people?
Have you seen the animated movie Moana? It tells the story of the Austronesian people!
But do you know about the Austronesian connection to Taiwan?
The Austronesian people are primarily distributed across the islands of the South Pacific. Even Hawaiians, New Zealanders, and Malagasy people carry their lineage.
Around 3000 BC, the Austronesian people embarked on their outward voyages, using Taiwan as their starting point. They sailed in double-hulled canoes, capable of carrying tens to hundreds of people.
Currently, with the exception of the Tao tribe, Taiwan's indigenous peoples have lost their shipbuilding techniques. The Tao tribe has also lost the technology for building large vessels, retaining only the skills for medium-sized plank boats. The vessel depicted by ZJ is inspired by Fijian boats.

Classic Hoodie Drawing Story About Taiwan Made In Taiwan.
Taiwanese, No.3 T, Austronesian
Who are the Austronesian people? They are an ethnic group whose distribution is mainly located in the South Pacific Islands. Even Hawaiians, New Zealanders, and Malagasy people have their blood.
Around 3000 BC, brave Austronesian explorers set sail from Taiwan in large canoes with two hulls that could carry dozens to hundreds of people. These boats, which looked like traditional Fijian outriggers, were important for the Austronesian migrations that spread across the Pacific Ocean.
At present, Taiwan's aboriginal people, except for the Tao tribe, have lost their shipbuilding technology. The reference body here is the Fijian ship.
