Poet's Background: Ma Zhiyuan excelled at depicting the emotions between travelers and nature. The scenes in his writing always carry a subtle sense of loneliness and tranquility, allowing readers to visualize distant riverbanks and the shadows of trees swaying in the breeze. The bald cypress in this piece, like a small tree quietly standing by the shore, guards its own rhythm amidst the shimmering water.
