In the early days of denim, jeans lacked belt loops. Instead, buttons were sewn directly onto the trousers to attach suspenders, preventing them from slipping down. From the 1820s until before World War I, suspenders were an essential accessory for men.
RED TORNADO's suspenders are based on Nigel Cabourn's vintage workwear elastic suspenders, with the design refined through numerous prototypes. The suspender straps are made of cotton twill woven around rubber, with a terry cloth lining. The connecting hardware is crafted from pure copper, while the tail clips and buckle clasps are made of durable iron. The leather components are genuine cowhide, offering an excellent feel.
