This piece combines a charming fairy cameo with the versatility of a brooch and necklace. The cameo is crafted from acrylic resin. Unlike cameos carved from shell or stone, this acrylic version allows for incredibly delicate expressions that would be impossible to achieve through carving alone, even in a small area. It's reminiscent of illustrations found in miniature books. The artwork evokes the delicate style of Cicely Mary Barker's fairy illustrations, which were once popular in Japan as collectible cards included with chocolate boxes. The flowing dress, full and elegant towards the hem, is particularly lovely. Morning glory-like flowers bloom at the fairy's feet. The cameo itself is generously sized at 4cm x 3cm. This allows for a detailed appreciation of the intricate artwork. For scale, the fifth image shows it placed on a tray roughly the size of an adult woman's hand, and the sixth image places it alongside a person depicted at near actual size. The back is equipped with both a brooch pin and a loop, enabling its use as a necklace. As the loop is small, it comes with a necklace chain featuring an easy-to-attach and detach lobster clasp. The heart-shaped clasp adds a charming touch, even when partially visible. When worn as a necklace, securing it with the brooch pin as well will help prevent excessive movement. The brooch pin is a sturdy rotating lock type. For durability, both the brooch pin and loop have been selected for their soldered construction and plating, rather than adhesive attachment. The hardware is silver in color. A silicone brooch stopper is included for secure wear.
