All processes, from kneading the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, are done entirely by hand in my home studio, equipped with a small electric kiln and a potter's wheel. The base of the mug will be sanded smooth for a polished finish where it meets the table. To address this, we apply a waterproofing treatment to all tableware before shipping, so there is no need for initial soaking (Metsuke). This waterproofing process requires 2-3 days, hence our shipping timeframe of 5 days from order placement.
