TAPANI: 3952 Old Goat - Named after the ancient place name of Yujing, Tainan, Taiwan, this is a premium writing essential. We meticulously select golden sandalwood, employing a high-definition, high-gloss finishing technique. This process involves repeated applications of transparent lacquer, followed by polishing and buffing, until the natural pores of the wood grain are completely filled. This dedication requires dozens of cycles of lacquering and polishing. The high-definition, high-gloss finish creates a smoother surface, enhancing the writing feel and making the exquisite wood grain appear more three-dimensional and vivid. It also makes the pen easier to maintain, protecting the wooden body from accidental ink stains. However, this sophisticated technique incurs a higher cost. Both the high-definition, high-gloss and standard finishes offer unique charms, catering to different tastes. The Old Goat fountain pen is sincerely offered to you, and we appreciate your support. The high-definition, high-gloss finish resembles the lustrous sheen of fine wood trim in luxury car interiors—a mirror-like polish that provides a particularly substantial feel in hand. While many pens on the market feature simple polished or waxed finishes, this level of meticulous craftsmanship is exceptionally rare (natural wood grain; high-quality, randomly selected). The pen is adorned with a flame-pattern engraved, airtight cap, featuring grey chrome plating and accessories, along with a flexible clip engraved with the 3952 brand logo.
The nib is a German Bock #180 (#5) small standard titanium nib, meticulously hand-ground and adjusted by Old Goat artisans into a calligraphy nib. Compared to steel nibs, this titanium calligraphy nib offers greater flexibility and a more responsive writing experience, allowing you to enjoy a unique tactile sensation.
**Gift Set Includes:** German SCHMIDT K2 converter (ink not included) + a handcrafted black genuine leather pen sleeve by a Taiwanese master craftsman (style shipped randomly) + 3952 Old Goat wooden pen box packaging.
**Fountain Pen Dimensions:** Total length approximately 142mm, body and grip section approximately 107mm, maximum diameter approximately 12mm (excluding clip), total weight approximately 30g (excluding nib).
**Hand-ground and Adjusted Calligraphy Nib:**
1. For calligraphy nibs, we recommend first dipping the nib in ink for initial writing (leave the converter installed inside the pen barrel; do not remove it, to prevent ink from flowing back into the pen body after writing). Allow some time for the nib to adapt to your writing style before using the converter for ink.
2. The calligraphy nib is crafted by grinding an EF nib to create a curved tip that produces line variation not solely by applying pressure, but by adjusting the angle of the pen. When holding the pen more upright, the contact area between the nib and paper is smaller, resulting in finer lines. When holding the pen at a more oblique angle or applying slight pressure, the contact area increases, producing broader lines. Achieving varied line widths depends on your mastery (each nib has a certain tolerance for pressure; avoid excessive force that could damage or misalign the nib. It is recommended to place a writing pad under the paper for a smoother experience).
In response to environmental protection, we do not proactively provide gift bags. If a gift bag is required for gifting purposes, please specify this in the order notes after purchase. Thank you.

**Note:** Regularly wipe and maintain the inside of the pen body and cap. When storing the pen, do not place it nib-down for extended periods.
**Gentle Reminder:** Avoid pressing down on the nib or writing off-center (for right-handed users, aim for the nib to point towards the 10 or 11 o'clock position) to prevent accidental displacement of the iridium tip, which can cause scratching and ink flow issues. Rinse the nib with clean water frequently to prevent ink clogs that can affect writing quality.
