Beautifully etched German pewter wine-jug by WMF Zinn Ges Gesch.
This jug is decorated with 3 different scenes, each dedicated to a 17th century artist:
- Hendr. Sorgh 1611 to 1670 "The Lute Player"
- Jan Steen 1626 to 1679 "The Dancing Lesson"
- Rembrandt 1606 tp 1669 "Self-portrait with Saskia"
The scenes are marked with the date on which the work was created. Under each scene there is a plaque with the artist's birth and death dates and the name of the depicted scene.
This jug is in fairly good condition. The base is slightly out-of-shape but this does not affect its stability in any way. Inside the jug there are some signs of discoloration due to ageing. The outside of the jug and etchings are all unscratched as can be seen in the photographs. The photographs are a part of the description.
Dimensions: 22.5cm (H) x 15cm (W including handle) x 9cm (D)
