To achieve a uniform and natural coloration, the leather is initially dampened. Dye is then applied repeatedly with a sponge, gradually building from light to deep tones until the desired hue is reached. Once dry, a color-fixative is applied to enhance colorfastness. The surface is then wiped with clean water to remove any dust and further even out the color. As each piece is dyed by hand, subtle variations exist between the colors of individual bags, making each one uniquely distinct.
