The wood of the Taiwan Beech is known for its hardness, making it a popular choice for construction and tools. It was also historically used for railway sleepers. Its nuts are rich in nutrients like starch and protein, serving as a food source for large birds, squirrels, flying squirrels, and even the Formosan black bear. However, due to their bitter taste, they are not suitable for human consumption, so please refrain from eating them.
