**About the Artist**
Born in 1973 in Fangyuan Township, Changhua County.
Began studying jade carving in Taipei in 1988.
In 1993, pursued advertising design in vocational school, integrating design concepts into his work.
Established his own studio in 1994.
2000: Received an honorable mention in the Craft category at the 14th Nan-Ying Art Exhibition for his work "Waiting for the Opportunity." Participated in a joint jade exhibition at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in August.
2001: Invited to participate in the Hualien International Arts Festival, showcasing live carving in the local creation area.
2002: Selected for the "Dream of Craftsmanship" award at the 10th Taiwan Craft Design Competition. Participated in a joint jade exhibition at the Hsinchu County Cultural Affairs Bureau in January. In May, exhibited jade carvings at the "Flowers and Trees Carnival" in Changhua County. From October to December, was invited by the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Cultural Foundation and Hualien County Cultural Affairs Bureau to exhibit in the "Garden of Stones" exhibition across Shin Kong Mitsukoshi department stores in northern, central, and southern Taiwan.
2003: Invited by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute to exhibit works such as "Lotus Ecological Scenery" at the "Taitung Local Craft Exhibition" in the Presidential Office.
2004: From March to June, featured in the National Education Radio program "Arts and Culture Corridor—Xie Zhong-Ren Jade Stone Carving Exhibition." Received an honorable mention in the "Dream of Craftsmanship" category at the 12th Taiwan Craft Design Competition. Held a solo exhibition at the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall from October to January 2005.
2005: Invited by the National Taiwan Museum to exhibit his work "Taiwanese Snacks - Braised Pork Rice." From June to September, participated in an exchange with the National Museum of the Czech Republic, exhibiting in the "Face of Sherlock Holmes Exhibition." Established the "Yu Ning Shi" brand and opened counters in department stores. In mid-December, exhibited at the Pacific Sogo Department Store's "Craft Master" exhibition.
2007: Invited to participate in the "Craftsmanship at Your Fingertips - Applied Crafts for Daily Life" exhibition at the Executive Yuan Gallery, organized by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute.
2008: His work "Japanese-Style Sushi" was selected for the "Taiwan Craft Competition" organized by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute.
2012: His work "Half-Thought" received an honorable mention in the Traditional Craft category at the "Taiwan Craft Competition" organized by the Ministry of Culture and the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute. His work "Tranquil Mountain and Water" received an honorable mention in the Craft category at the 21st Tainan City "Nan-Ying Award."
2013: Exhibited at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in the "Cross-Strait Jade Carving Masters Exchange Exhibition," invited to display in the Taiwanese Jade Master section.
2016: Invited by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute to exhibit at the Presidential Office Gallery as part of the "Gathering Around the Hearth - Sustainable Craft Exhibition," showcasing three works: "Japanese-Style Sushi," "Handmade Mochi," and "Leaping Moment."
2017: His work "Remnant Lotus Spring" received an honorable mention at the Taoyuan City Taoyuan Art Exhibition.
2018: Held his solo exhibition "Xie Zhong-Ren Jade Carving 30 Years: The Continuation of Culture" at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall.
2019: From January to June, invited by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute to exhibit his work "Auspicious Dragon Presents Blessings" at the Presidential Office Gallery's "Feast · Happiness" exhibition.
2020: "Joyful Heart, Radiant Art - Taiwan Craft Development Association Boutique Exhibition" was jointly held at the Hsinchu County Cultural Affairs Bureau (July 29 - August 16, 2020) and the Taipei Museum of Contemporary Art, National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute (October 6, 2020 - February 28, 2021).
2021: His work "Japanese-Style Sushi" was exhibited at the "Creative Regeneration Green Craft" exhibition organized by the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute (October-November). His work "Handmade Mochi" was selected for the 2021 Taiwan Craft Competition and toured at the Taipei Museum of Contemporary Art, National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute, Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Xinyi Store, Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Tainan Ximen Store, and Taichung Store.
