Title of work: CALDO
Dimensions: 475 × 675 mm
Produced in the UK using Offset lithographic printing on 150gsm Pergraphica Natural Smooth uncoated paper with embossed text.
The work presents the duality of art and architecture and was designed by renowned French designer and artist Nathalie du Pasquier.
Fascinated by the duality of art and architecture, DU PASQUIER plays with the structure of two- and three-dimensional objects through bold shapes and unexpected color combinations. Initially depicting still lifes and landscapes, her paintings now depict less real objects and instead express a more exploratory vision.
Defining herself as a "painter who makes her own models," she generally favors an instinctive approach. “For me, design patterns are a way to condense moods, memories, wishes, etc., without having to be too clever.” – Nathalie du Pasquier in an interview with Frieze.
His early success in designing textiles with an untrained intuitive talent led Ettore Sottsass to invite him to join Memphis, a design collective established in Milan for more than ten years and known for its "form follows pleasure" ethos. After Memphis disbanded, Natalie shifted her focus to her pure passion: painting. Her work can be seen as a continuous chain of ideas, whether it is textiles for American Apparel, silk scarves for Hermes, a picture book, or a ceramic collaboration with Bitossi. In addition to those closely connected with the artist's life, she was also strongly influenced by her surroundings: Milan; her native Bordeaux; and across West Africa. Her evolving practice is an organic and steady path of interconnected experiences and creations.
The difference between whether there is Acrylic or not:
》 Acrylic= one more layer of protection = one more layer of reflection
》No Acrylic= less layer of protection = you can directly see the work with better texture
I don’t know how to choose: (If there are children in the family, it is recommended to add Acrylic), (If there are adults in the family, you don’t need to use Acrylic)
