The clay body is a blend of several coarse white clays, kneaded together.
The glaze presents a purplish-blue reminiscent of hydrangeas, adorned with star-like white crystals.
We've combined these two elements to create this small plate.
I first encountered the concept of a "dai-zara" (raised plate) when I began my pottery journey.
I was captivated by its form, which gracefully tapers from a clean, flat surface, and the subtly charming yet serene atmosphere it creates when adorned with sweets. It was something I'd long wished to make.
Its shape is a little more unique compared to standard teacups or plates, which made it a project I hesitated to start for a while, but I've finally managed to create it.
Enjoy it with Japanese sweets and matcha, or with fine chocolates and coffee, or with cheese and nuts alongside wine.
It's a vessel that will bring a slightly special ambiance to your table.
All stages of production—from kneading the clay and shaping to bisquing, glazing, and final firing—are meticulously done by hand in my home studio, equipped with a small electric kiln and a potter's wheel.
While mass production isn't possible, each piece possesses its own unique character, allowing you to appreciate the subtle charm that comes from handmade craftsmanship.
The item you receive will be the one pictured.
To minimize any risk of scratching your table, the base has been carefully sanded.
I continue to explore new combinations of various glazes and clays, creating a diverse range of pottery in both color and form.
Each piece is unique, similar but distinct, and truly one-of-a-kind.
It would bring me immense joy if you were to find a piece that speaks to you.
I hope you'll find delight in the cozy atmosphere woven by the clay and glaze, adding a touch of beauty to your daily life.

*Notes on Purchase and Use*
* Due to the porous nature of ceramic, it may absorb liquids, potentially leading to staining within the crazing or slight seepage.
To address this, we apply a food-safe sealant to all our pottery before shipping, so there is no need for initial seasoning (me-rimidine).
This sealing process requires 2-3 days, hence our shipping timeframe of 5 days from order placement.
If you prefer not to have the sealant applied, please inform us at the time of purchase.
* Cutlery shown in the product images is not included.
* We strive to capture and edit product images to be as true to life as possible. However, colors may appear differently depending on your monitor settings and lighting conditions. Please be aware of this possibility.
* As this item is also sold on other platforms, in the rare event of overlapping purchases, the item will be prioritized for the customer who completes the purchase procedure first. We appreciate your understanding.
* While the item is safe for microwave use (for reheating purposes) and dishwashers, the vibrations from microwaves and the high-pressure spray in dishwashers may accelerate its degradation. We kindly suggest limiting their use.
* Please refrain from using in ovens or over direct heat.
* After use, to prevent stains and mold, please wash thoroughly and ensure the item is completely dry before storing it in your cupboard or other storage.
