X888:3952 Old Goat - Golden Nanmu Wood (HD High Gloss Edition), understated and elegant, with perfect balance for comfortable writing. The cap features a stately barrel shape with a spring-loaded clip. Grey chrome electroplated metal accents. This HD High Gloss edition features rare yellow pear wood, treated with premium craftsmanship for easy maintenance, resisting ink stains and perspiration. The wood grain appears more three-dimensional and natural (each pen boasts unique wood grain, a premium piece will be randomly selected). The HD High Gloss finish involves repeatedly applying and polishing a transparent lacquer until the natural pores of the wood are filled. This process requires dozens of coats, creating a smoother surface for a better writing feel and enhancing the dimensionality and clarity of the exquisite wood grain. It also makes maintenance easier, protecting the wooden body from accidental ink spills. This meticulous craftsmanship comes at a higher cost. Both HD High Gloss and standard finishes offer distinct charms, catering to different tastes. Old Goat Pens proudly presents this collection, thank you for your support. The pen features a screw-on, airtight cap, a perfectly balanced grip section, and a comfortable writing style that is both understated and elegant.
The nib is a German Bock #250 (#6) standard titanium nib, handcrafted and adjusted by Old Goat artisans into a calligraphy nib capable of producing variations in line width. It offers a unique, brush-like writing experience with a distinct feel, more flexible than standard calligraphy steel nibs.
**Gift Set Includes: German SCHMIDT K2 Ink Converter (ink not included) + a hand-stitched black genuine leather pen sleeve by a Taiwanese master craftsman (style will be randomly selected) + 3952 Old Goat Wooden Pen Box Packaging.**
Pen Dimensions: Total pen length 150mm, cap length 69mm, cap outer diameter 17.5mm, body including nib 130mm, body outer diameter 14.4mm, total weight approx. 45g.
Hand-Tuned Calligraphy Nib:
1. For calligraphy nibs, it is generally recommended to first dip the nib in ink and allow it to break in for a period before using the converter.
2. If using the converter results in skipping, check the angle at which you hold the pen. Both iridium points should land on the paper simultaneously; avoid writing on just one side. If skipping persists, check the nib for trapped paper fibers or debris.
3. Remove the converter and try filling the pen by immersion.
4. Clean the nib thoroughly. If the left and right iridium points are not writing evenly or if excessive pressure is applied, it can lead to misalignment of the iridium points, causing scratching and paper debris accumulation in the nib slit.
5. Calligraphy nibs are adjusted from EF nibs with a curved tip. Line width variation is achieved not by pressing down, but by the angle of the pen. Holding the pen more upright reduces the contact area with the paper, resulting in finer lines. The more the pen is tilted, the larger the contact area, producing thicker lines. Achieving variations in line width depends on your dexterity and skill.
In response to environmental protection efforts, we do not proactively provide paper bags. If a gift bag is required for gifting purposes, please specify this in the order notes after purchase. Thank you.
Images are for reference only. The product is sold individually. Some photos may exhibit slight color variations due to lighting and angles; the actual product is the standard.
Note: Regularly wipe and maintain the inside of the pen body and cap. When not in use, do not store the pen with the nib pointing downwards for extended periods.
Gentle Reminder: Avoid pressing down on the nib or writing with it skewed to the left or right (for right-handed users, it is recommended to hold the pen so the nib points towards the 10 or 11 o'clock position) to prevent accidental misalignment of the iridium points, which can cause scratching and ink skipping. The nib should be rinsed with clean water regularly to prevent ink from clogging and affecting writing quality.
