【FUKUROKUJYU】
Canopus god worshiped in China. It is also said to be the mountain god of Mt. Tai in China. One of the Seven Lucky Gods.
The belief in Canopus developed separately and created the gods of Fukurokuju and Jurojin. Canopus was believed to be the star that governs human life and bestows wealth and good luck.
It is said that during the Northern Song Dynasty, an old man with a long beard, who was about 90 cm tall and had the same body and head as the incarnation of the old man, appeared. There is a story that he went out to the city and fortune-telling and hit his head and said, "I am a saint who knows the lifespan of people." Often drawn with a crane or turtle, it represents longevity. Use your cane to indicate the location of veins and water sources and enrich people. Bestows 福(happiness),禄 (wealth), and 寿 (longevity).
Fukurokuju is enshrined at Sekizan Zenin in Kyoto. It is said that business will flourish when worshiping.
