This is a bamboo Chashaku (tea scoop) for measuring matcha. Crafted by artisans in Takayama, Nara Prefecture, each piece is finished by hand. While there are various materials and shapes available, at YUGEN, we primarily offer the standard, classic form of bamboo Chashaku. ※ Due to being handmade and using natural materials, each item will have a unique texture and color. ※ When cleaning, gently wipe away any matcha residue with a dry cloth. "Susudake" Bamboo This is a bamboo material sourced from the attics and ceilings of thatched-roof folk houses. Aged for over 100 years, it is deeply and beautifully colored a natural brown by the smoke from irori hearths. Buildings meeting these specific conditions are becoming rare with time, so please enjoy this precious material. ※ As natural materials are used, there may be individual differences in the appearance of knots, bamboo patterns, and color variations.
