As a natural material, and due to the tanning process used by the tannery which minimizes damage to the leather's texture, the surface may inevitably show minor "scars," "wrinkles," and "veins." We strive to avoid these during the cutting process or place them on less visible or non-stressed areas of the product. 2. Pure Hand Stitching We do not use sewing machines for our products; all items are hand-stitched. Before stitching, special pricking irons are used to create the stitch holes on the leather, enabling the creation of beautiful, wavy stitch lines, which distinguish them from machine stitching. While this significantly increases production time, it is a crucial step where leather artisans imbue the product with its soul and a warm, tactile feel. 3. Hand-Finished Edges Before completion, the leather edges are meticulously sanded and finished. This process aims to make the edges smooth, rounded, and natural. "Cut Line School" employs its unique edge-finishing method. First, sandpaper is used to repeatedly smooth the sharp edges, followed by applying a layer of edge finish for a level appearance. This is repeated 2-3 times, then a layer of edge wax is applied, and finally, a burnishing tool is used to repeatedly polish until the edges are smooth. 4. Hand-Dyed Leather For our hand-dyed products, "Cut Line School" currently uses imported Fiebing's leather alcohol dyes from the United States. To achieve even and natural coloration, we begin by slightly dampening the leather surface, then applying the dye with a sponge, layer by layer, from light to deep, until the desired color is achieved. After drying, a color-fixing agent is applied to enhance colorfastness. The surface is also wiped with water to remove any surface dust and further even out the color. As the dyeing process is entirely by hand, subtle variations exist between the colors of each bag, making every piece unique.
