**Opal Care & Storage**
If you have purchased natural gemstones such as opals or pearls, please pay special attention to avoiding overly humid or environments with significant temperature fluctuations. Both temperature and humidity can accelerate the decomposition or oxidation of organic gemstones. Due to the hardness and formation of organic gemstones, please also avoid hot springs, hot baths, and products containing cleaning agents.
Opal is a delicate gemstone that requires a bit of moisture for its care. Therefore, we do not include desiccants in the storage pouch. Like other gemstones, it should not be worn during baths or hot spring visits. Do not use silver polishing cloths to clean opals; instead, use a clean, dry, or slightly damp cloth. We will provide a jewelry polishing cloth. After wearing, gently wipe the ring clean and store it in the gemstone pouch.
For all natural gemstone and metal jewelry, it is not recommended to wear them in hot springs or during baths, as chemicals can easily cause adverse reactions. Avoid direct contact with perfumes and bleach. Please also refrain from storing jewelry in bathrooms or kitchens, as this can accelerate oxidation.
For sterling silver or gold jewelry, when not being worn, try to isolate it from moisture and air. Wipe clean with a dry cloth or the provided polishing cloth, then store in a PVC zipper bag. Each piece of jewelry should be stored separately to prevent scratches from collisions with other jewelry or hard objects.
**About Opal**
Color is a fundamental attribute of most gemstones. Among the variations in color, the most significant characteristic of opal is its "play-of-color." Opal, also known as "oubo," originates from the Latin word "opalus," meaning "a collection of gemstone beauty." It is world-renowned for its magical and beautiful play-of-color effect, and it is also a symbol of nobility and status. The renowned English playwright Shakespeare once described opal as "this miracle, the queen of gems." Its colors are incredibly diverse, displaying different color changes when viewed from various angles. Each piece of opal is unique, making it highly collectible. Opals come in various types, including black opal, white opal (crystal opal), fire opal, and boulder opal.
Opal is composed of a silica sphere structure, which is invisible to the naked eye and can only be seen under an electron microscope. These color variations are caused by diffraction and interference. It's a bit complex, but essentially, light plays hide-and-seek with these spherical structures and their gaps!
**Natural Stone Inclusions**
The natural stones used in the NOW design studio are collected from around the world, and each one is unique, with most products being one-of-a-kind. These are specially selected natural stones. We showcase their colors from different angles or under various lighting conditions to our clients. Natural stones may have internal impurities (inclusions), which are unavoidable. If this is a concern, we do not recommend purchasing. However, NOW products will always eliminate impurities that extend to the surface of the natural stone.

**About NOW**
NOW's design philosophy is rooted in the use of natural gemstones as the foundation for our designs. We convey the story of each natural gemstone through our product designs, drawing upon our knowledge and experience.
Natural gemstones are the natural crystallization of minerals, nurtured over thousands or even billions of years beneath the earth's surface. Our natural gemstones come from different countries and origins, making each one unique. NOW does not mass-produce. For every natural gemstone, we thoughtfully design jewelry suitable for everyday wear by Asians, creating pieces with different temperaments based on the gemstone's characteristics—subtle yet radiant, gentle yet strong. NOW aims to offer more refined choices in a diverse jewelry market. Every gemstone has a beautiful story; gemstones are not distinguished by their preciousness, but by whether you can see their beauty.
"The choices of the past shape the present, and the choices of the present determine the future." NOW focuses on the rhythm of the present moment and looks forward to meeting you.
