A self-proclaimed "stamp carving professional," the artist resides in Taiwan, diligently creating and designing stamps from a charming old apartment in Taipei. Previously a magazine and book editor for publishing houses, they now exclusively focus on stamp design. Each season, handcrafted original stamps are released, with published collections numbered 1 through 8, featuring over 100 unique stamps in the eighth volume. Their authored books include: "A Handmade Life in 12 Hours a Week," "Rubber Stamps, Open the Door!", and "12 Lessons for Beginner Rubber Stampers: Next Stamp Class." Utilizing erasers as the primary material, each stamp is the result of patient, deliberate carving, stroke by stroke. Stamp designs often draw inspiration from everyday observations, landscapes and encounters during travels, and cherished objects (incorporating elements like text, flowers, geometric shapes, nature, and architecture). These inspirations are then deconstructed and reassembled, employing multi-point line intersections and a balance of bold and delicate strokes, often complemented by foreign text and meticulously chosen symbolic elements to compose the final stamp imagery. The artist enjoys combining stamps of varying sizes, allowing for both solo performances and collaborative arrangements through repetition. Many graphic designs also emerge from these stamps, with segments extracted and extended through the act of stamping, resulting in creations like postcards and washi tapes.
