Bracelet with African Agate, Old Chin Silver, Orissa Brass, White & Indigo Blue Beads

This is a bracelet strung with African agate, old Chin silver, old Orissa brass, and white & indigo blue beads. The oval white beads are agate excavated from Africa, dating back to around the 10th century. You can enjoy the unique texture of agate that has passed through time! As they are old, they have some scratches, but these contribute to their wonderful atmosphere. (Size of African agate: 1.05cm wide x 0.7cm diameter) The white beads are old beads from India. Their worn texture is a testament to being worn for many years. (Circa 19th-20th century) Although they have been cleaned, some of the darker parts may come off with wear, revealing more white. We hope you will enjoy their aging process. (Bead size: 3-4mm) The indigo blue beads are antique beads known as Indo-Pacific beads. The origin of Indo-Pacific beads is said to be the 2nd century BC. These particular beads were excavated in Indonesia and date back to the 10th century – over 1000 years old! Their uneven size and color variations make them endlessly fascinating. The amber-colored beads near the clasp are antique White Hearts. They are called White Hearts because the core is white. Antique (19th-20th century) White Hearts are becoming very rare these days. The bulbous, pot-shaped silver beads sandwiching the African agate are extremely rare old Chin silver. These are heirloom pieces from the 18th-19th century, originating from Burma. They were used by Chin women in necklaces and other adornments, showing unique wear and endearing marks. Their weight and presence are incomparable to modern silver (though some modern pieces are also stylish...). These antique beads have seen further price increases in recent years. The golden beads and anchor-like charms next to the African agate are old Orissa brass. These are old and rare beads from the state of Orissa in India. Each small Karen silver bead is stamped! It’s mind-boggling to think that all this is done by hand... The clasp is also Karen silver. ◇ Karen Silver ◇ This is silver made by mountain tribes living in Thai Burma. Each piece is handmade, and it is said to have very high purity. They are strung on two waxed cords, so they may feel a bit stiff at first, but they will become supple with wear.
