Pair of vintage Zwiebelmuster candle stands from the Blue Danube series. Blue Danube porcelain was made exclusively in Japan for distribution by Lipper International Inc. of New York. The Blue Danube pattern was designed for them in 1951. Porcelain pieces were made in Japan with dark blue flowers on white ground, copied from Meissen’s Onion pattern. Lipper used a banner backstamp on Blue Danube pieces from 1951 through 1976, and a rectangular backstamp from 1977 to 2000.
Judging by the mark on these candle syands, they were manufactured between 1977 and 2000. These candle stands are in good condition with possibly a slight surface mark due to usage as well as some possible candle wax residue. The photographs are a part of the description.
Dimensions: 16cm height x 9.5cm diameter each
