The fine-grained white clay provides a beautiful canvas for the striking glaze color. After being shaped into a rounded teacup, it was fired with a crystal glaze in a warm yellow-brown, highlighting its earthenware charm. This teacup is slightly smaller than others we offer. Its delightfully plump shape feels cozy and natural when cradled in both hands. It’s perfect for coffee, cafe au lait, hojicha, or matcha lattes. It can also serve as a charming vessel for a small portion of soup at breakfast. Or, try it for serving coffee jelly or pudding. We hope you enjoy it with your favorite beverage. Each piece is meticulously crafted by hand in my home studio, which is equipped with a small electric kiln and a potter's wheel. Every step, from kneading the clay and shaping to bisquing, glazing, and the final firing, is done by hand. While mass production is not possible, each cup possesses its own unique character, offering the authentic charm that comes from handmade artistry. The item you receive will be the exact piece shown in the product images. To ensure your surfaces are protected, the base of the cup has been carefully sanded smooth. I continue to explore new combinations of glazes and clays, creating a diverse range of pottery in various colors and forms. Each piece is unique, seemingly similar but truly one-of-a-kind. To address this, we apply a water-blocking treatment to all our tableware using a food-safe sealant before shipping, eliminating the need for a pre-soaking process (mezoma). This treatment takes 2-3 days to complete, hence our shipping timeframe of 5 days from order placement. If you prefer not to have this treatment applied, please notify us at the time of purchase. * The glaze color's appearance can vary depending on the lighting. It may look lighter and whiter under natural morning light or cool white LED lighting, and exhibit warmer, redder, or yellower tones under evening light or warm-toned lamps. * Cutlery shown in the product images is not included. * We strive to capture the most accurate representation of the product in our photos and edits.
