The bird's humerus (Humerus of Birds) is located at the proximal end of the wing, a crucial bone connecting the shoulder girdle to the radius and ulna. Its hollow structure, connected to air sacs, makes it both lightweight and capable of withstanding the forces of flight. This bone serves as the primary pivot point during flapping, gliding, and takeoff, aiding in the control of wing angle and power. The morphology of the humerus varies among different bird species depending on their flight style; for instance, raptors possess sturdier bones, while water birds have more elongated ones.
