Biography
Born in 1942.
He studied under his father, Jiro Iwato, a master craftsman, and learned how to cast teapots and kettles.
In 1960, he took over the family business, devoting himself to casting teapots and working hard to lighten them and improve their coloring.
Awards:
1962:Selected for the 4th Mizusawa City Casting Creation Exhibition
1964:Won the Grand Prize at the 6th Mizusawa City Casting Creation Exhibition
2005: Won the Chairman's Award from the Haneda District Promotion Association at the 26th Mizusawa City Casting Festival.
His meticulousness and precision in applying patterns to the molds are the result of 60 years of experience as a craftsman and demonstrate his mastery of the trade.
