Pin Brooch: Little Strawberry

Starting with a sketch, the clay is molded, dried slightly, and then shaped repeatedly. We create enough pieces to fill the kiln evenly over about a month. Bisque firing takes 7 hours, after which they are removed, wiped with water, and each piece is individually glazed before the final firing for 12 hours. Some pieces are finished with gold glaze and placed back in the kiln for another 7 hours. As they require slow cooling, we wait about 2 days after each firing before removing them from the kiln. Finally, each piece is inspected by hand, and a pin is attached to those that meet our standards. Currently, our success rate is around 70%. Although this process requires significant time and effort, the result is a decorative brooch that combines the tactile feel of clay, the durability of pottery, the luster of glaze, and the sparkle of gold accents. We believe this is an item that can be cherished for a long time, remaining a favorite.
