Latin American artists have long been associated with modern art, and in 2025, we will explore their contributions within our collection, encompassing movements from abstraction to surrealism and conceptual art.
Discover works like Lygia Clark's aluminum sculpture, "Sun Dial" (1960), and Cuban artist Carmen Herrera's bi-colored chevron painting, "Untitled" (1952). Alongside Mexican artist Frida Kahlo's exploration of family and self in her paintings, a photograph reinterpreting Kahlo's themes is presented: "Las dos Fridas" (The Two Fridas) (1989) by the Chilean duo Las Yeguas del Apocalipsis. In Cuban-American artist Felix Gonzalez-Torres's conceptual piece "Untitled" (Perfect Lovers) (1991), two clocks are set to the same hour and minute, side by side, yet are destined to drift apart over time.
