These are SDGs jewelry pieces featuring Kintsugi, upcycled from ceramics crafted by Matsuundayama kiln in Hagi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture.
Broken or chipped pottery that is no longer in use is repurposed and adorned with Kintsugi to be reborn as accessories.
The concept behind these pieces is to bring the beauty of nature and Japan's enduring traditions closer to you, transforming them into modern accessories that connect to the future and unlock new possibilities.
Elegant blue pottery fragments are accented with freshwater pearls.
Kintsugi is applied to the sides of the pottery fragments, allowing the gold to shimmer beautifully from every angle, adding a touch of refined elegance.
These pieces are perfect as a stylish accent for both casual and elegant outfits.
Length: 20 x 14mm
Metal fittings: Surgical stainless steel earrings (metal fittings cannot be changed)
Weight: Despite being pottery fragments, they are lightweight and comfortable to wear.
As each piece is a one-of-a-kind creation, it makes for an ideal gift. Please consider them as a special present for your loved ones.
*As these are finished, one-of-a-kind items, we cannot accept requests for changes to the metal fittings or for remakes.
*We will send the item pictured. However, if the item has already been sold on another site, it may be made to order. In such cases, please note that there may be individual differences in color, pattern, and size of the pottery fragments and natural stones compared to the photo.
*"Kintsugi" is a unique Japanese traditional repair method that mends broken or chipped ceramics using lacquer and gold powder. These pieces are created using a modern, simplified Kintsugi technique. Unlike traditional Kintsugi which uses tree sap from the lacquer tree, this method uses adhesive for the bonding.
The Kintsugi parts use lacquer (a paint made by a manufacturer, not raw lacquer) and gold powder (brass powder, pearl powder), with UV resin also used for reinforcement.
