As a natural material, and due to the leather factory's use of less damaging vegetable-tanning processes, the leather surface may inevitably bear minor "scars," "wrinkles," or "veins." We endeavor to avoid these during the cutting process or position them on less visible or non-stressed areas of the product. 2. Hand-Stitched Construction Our products are meticulously crafted entirely by hand, without the use of sewing machines. Before stitching, special diamond chisels are used to create precise holes in the leather, ensuring the signature wavy stitch pattern that distinguishes our work from machine-sewn items. While this significantly extends production time, it is a crucial step where leather artisans infuse each piece with soul and a warm, tactile quality. 3. Hand-Burnished Edges Before completion, the leather edges are carefully burnished and sealed. Our proprietary method ensures smooth, rounded, and natural-looking edges. This involves repeatedly sanding the edges with sandpaper until smooth, followed by applying edge sealant 2-3 times for a level finish. Finally, a layer of edge wax is applied and buffed with a burnishing tool until the edges achieve a lustrous smoothness. 4. Hand-Dyed Leather For our hand-dyed items, "Cut Line School" utilizes imported Fiebing's leather alcohol dyes from the United States. To achieve a uniform and natural coloration, the leather surface is first dampened with water. Dyes are then applied repeatedly with a sponge, building the color from light to deep until the desired shade is reached. After drying, a color-fixing agent is applied to enhance colorfastness. The surface is then wiped with clean water to remove any dust and further even out the color. As each piece is hand-dyed, subtle variations in color exist between individual bags, making each one unique.
