The back features an Ainu pattern, and the front depicts a bear holding a salmon. This piece was created using indigo dyeing, inspired by the imagery experienced during a trip to Hokkaido. After indigo dyeing, patterns are applied using the bassen technique to remove color, followed by an overall uneven dyeing process. As each piece is individually hand-dyed and pattern-etched, please enjoy a one-of-a-kind indigo-dyed item, as no two are exactly alike.
