Vintage large serving plate from the Hamilton series made by Royal Doulton. Royal Doulton was founded by John Doulton Lambeth, London, in 1815. They first primarily made pipes and utilitarian wares. In 1882, the company moved north with the focus on crafting fine bone china tableware and decorative items. Royal Doulton became officially ‘royal’ in 1901, as it received a royal warrant and permission to use ‘royal’ in the name. It still produces ceramics today.
The Hamilton series was in production from 1973 to 1987. This plate is in undamaged, good condition with a few small surface marks on the glaze due to usage. The photographs are a part of the description.
