Cultivating Tahitian black pearls is challenging; the process of nurturing the pearl oysters is long and prone to mortality, and factors like weather and water quality make the finished products exceedingly rare. In the South Pacific, between Australia and South America, lies a chain of coral islands. This region is abundant with "black-lipped" pearl oysters, mollusks that secrete a grey and black nacre. Legend has it that Oro, the god of peace and fertility, descended upon the mortal realm on a rainbow and gifted the Te Ufi pearl oyster to humanity. Another legend tells of Oro presenting the pearl from the oyster to the beautiful princess Bora Bora as a symbol of his love. Yet another tale speaks of the coral spirit Okana and the sand god Uaro adorning the Te Ufi pearl oyster with a brocade robe, making it shimmer with the colors of the myriad fish in the Polynesian waters. Miss Shiori has meticulously selected 39 Tahitian black pearls, each measuring 9.5-12mm in diameter, and strung them in sequence to create a necklace approximately 44cm in length when straightened. This arrangement forms a vibrant spectrum of black, weighing about 61.0 grams. The Tahitian black pearls are large and round, with a fine luster, exhibiting a variety of iridescent hues such as peacock green, peacock blue, platinum grey, mysterious purple, and rainbow colors.
