Jun kiln, also known as Junzhou kiln, refers to a group of kilns located in the ancient Junzhou area (now Yuzhou City, Henan Province) from the late Northern Song Dynasty to modern times, with Jun-glazed porcelain as the leading product.
Jun-glazed porcelain, also known as Jun porcelain, is characterized by its opalescent phase-separated glaze, which is based on blue and green, and can effectively control and apply Bronze red glaze and copper-red color. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Jun porcelain gradually became a collectible. Jun kiln was listed as a famous kiln of the Song Dynasty, and later ranked among the "Five Famous Kilns of the Song Dynasty".
This Japanese incense burner is a modern work that imitates the glaze color of ancient Jun kilns. The shape of the vessel is dignified and grand, with the characteristics of Japanese form. The glaze color is slightly different from that of ancient times, with more brown tones and is more primitive! Moreover, the bottom also has a flowing glaze mixed color that was not found in ancient Jun glazes. It feels like a fusion of Tianmu and Jun glazes, which is very unique!
